Southland Services, Inc. (SSI) is a civil and structural consulting engineering firm founded in 1983 by Charles G. Thom, Jr., P.E., and incorporated in 1984.

 J. Patrick Stanton, P.E., Vice President and principal civil engineer, has been with the firm since 1989.

Initial assignments of the firm included civil and structural engineering for residential, retail and office building projects; municipal drainage studies and facility design; municipal water system studies and design; and planning and design of structures used in the limestone and barite mining industries.  As our firm has grown, so has the number of clients and sophistication of projects. 

Organizational memberships include ASCE and ACEC.  Professional licenses are maintained in 17 states:  AL, FL, GA, IL, KY, LA, MI, NJ, NY, NC, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, and WVA.

Principal and senior management on a daily basis, a creative staff of technicians and administrators, and up-to-date technological resources contribute to timely and economical service.   A sample of client testimonials:
